Hi! I’m Josie Cancro, and my goal as a creative is to share people’s stories, emotions, and all the little moments.

I’m a senior student-athlete at St. Lawrence University, majoring in Digital Media and Film with a minor in Sports Studies and Exercise Science.

Jc.candids started in 2020 when COVID hit. I needed something to fill my time, and my brother had a Nikon camera covered in dust. As soon as I picked it up, I knew this was something I wanted to pursue. I began taking photos of anything and everything, carrying the camera with me everywhere. When we returned to school, I started shooting sports—and realized I could combine my love for athletics with my creative side. It was the perfect duo.

Since then, I’ve taken on roles as a social media consultant and videographer for NES Sports Performance, photographing athletics for St. Lawrence University, and I serve as Social Media Chair for Saints Nation, where I manage the Instagram account, creating content and graphics to engage the fan community.

Two summers ago, I worked as the photographer for the Danbury Westerners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. This was my first opportunity to take on photography as my primary role, helping me build confidence and develop my workflow as a sports photographer.

Most recently, I spent the summer as a photographer for the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League, capturing games, events, fans, and the everything in between.

I’m excited to continue growing as a creative and telling meaningful stories through the combination of sports and creative media!
